Chocolate Cake With Organic Date Sugar

Organic Date Sugar

Since many people are turning to a healthier lifestyle, one of the necessary steps of it is to eliminate any processed foods or ingredients that harm our well-being. As you can imagine, sugar falls at the top of this list, and many nutritionists have recommended entirely putting it out of use. However, what can you do when you simply need to satisfy your sweet tooth?

Luckily for you, Deglet Noor dates are here to help! These exceptional dried fruits are naturally sweet and great for your health, providing numerous benefits and a kick of energy that wakes up your entire body. Additionally, they’re pretty versatile, meaning you can eat them as they are or incorporate them in various recipes.

Furthermore, in recent times, there has been a surge in demand for alternative sweeteners, and organic date sugar is all the rave right now! Not only is it sweet and nutritious, but it also adds an unparalleled touch of flavor and richness that no other organic sweetener can achieve. What separates it from its counterparts lies within its unrefined nature, preserving the dried fruit’s nourishment while retaining its deliciously sweet flavor.

Organic date sugar can be used in various baked goods, from muffins and tarts to cakes and syrups, and today, we’ve got a classic recipe for you – with a nutritional cake. In this blog, we will show you how to bake a chocolate cake with our Kartago organic dates sugar.

To prepare the cake, you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of Kartago organic date sugar
  • 250g Kartago Deglet Noor dates
  • 100g melted butter
  • 200g fine spelt
  • 2 tsp wheat-free baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 organic eggs
  • 100 ml strong coffee
  • 100ml organic almond milk

To begin making your organic date sugar chocolate cake, preheat your oven to 356F (180C). Then place your Deglet Noor dates in a pot of water and bring it to a boil. Then, lower the temperature and place the butter inside, while the lid stays on top of the pot. Next, mix your organic date sugar, baking powder, spelt, vanilla extract, and cacao in a food processor or a blender. Once you have made the mixture, add eggs, coffee, and almond milk and blend again. Afterward, take out your dates and butter and mix them together with the spelt mixture, and blend until you have a fine dough. If it feels too stiff, you can add more milk or hot water. When you have the ideal texture, place the dough in a cake tin and place it in the oven. Bake for around 25 minutes or until you stick a pin, and it comes out clean. After it’s done, place it outside to cool.

While cooling, you can make the frosting. You only need 70g of butter, 70g of organic maple syrup, and 4 tbsp of pure cacao powder. Mix everything together and place it once the cake is completely cooled down. You can serve up your pieces with some whipped cream on top or simply leave it as it is. Either way, you’ll find it extremely delicious!

This is just one way you can use organic date sugar, and there is a lot more where that came from! That said, head to our store and purchase a packet of our Kartago organic dates sugar – start replacing your regular sugar consumption and witness the difference yourself!
